Taylor

If you read the Taylor Monthly for June you’ll see that I finally overhauled the developer documentation to make it even easier for other people to contribute.

You’ll also know someone other than me did a pull request too! It always blows my mind that there are people out there interested in Taylor and willing to help. You can check out the pull request from azimux if you’re curious what they did.

One of my favourite things about doing this blog is I’ve built up a big list of really cool and interesting links. The annoying thing is they’re split across a bunch of different pages!

A few times now I’ve gone to try and find a link I remember posting and struggling to find it, so I built an archive for all the links I’ve ever posted. You can check it out here or just scroll to the end of the page.

Block Stacker Example Game

I’ve finally started in earnest on a new example game, this time the focus will be on stacking blocks and clearing lines!

I’m very excited about this project as I’ve wanted to build this sort of game for a while but have felt intimidated I might not structure it well enough for the crazy shenanigans I plan on doing with it. If I let that sort of thing hold me back though Taylor would never exist, so I bit the bullet and started work. It’s early days but I’m already pretty happy with it.

How to Write an Effective Software Design Document: Definitely a lot of useful advice in this one, I'll be referencing the linked design doc a lot.

Hanami 3.0: In full bloom: Hanami has it's 3.0 release!
